Dance studios are where people can take their children, or go themselves, in order to train in styles of dance. Studios can specialize in teaching students a particular dance style, like hip-hop. Most studios, however, offer classes in all styles of dance, and even gymnastics and singing/acting lessons. Dance lessons can be pretty expensive depending on the studio you attend. For example, you can be charged $30.00 a week in order to take one class, for one day out of that week. If you want to attend the class more than one day a week, the price goes up by another $30.00. Additional classes can cost 10 to $20.00.

One very important thing you should know about dance studios is that anyone can open a dance studio - you don't need any dance experience or teaching experience , just money to pay rent for the studio and upkeep for the building. So, if you are going to a new studio you should always
* Talk to alumni: These are people who "graduated" from the studio (left at or after age 18). You should ask them about overall experiences, but especially with teachers
*Look at the studios competition teams: how well or how poorly a studio does at competitions is a reflection of the training going on at the studio. If a studio has a great competition team, it means they have great teachers and vice versa.
*Take a tour of the studio : look at the conditions of the floors and ceiling, see if the building clean and if the classes are organized.
